Introduction

Hi, i posted my first guide about Artisan Occupation and after that, I shifted my interests from general guides to class specific guides. I posted guides for assasin and Berserker. But recently i found that there are not much guides on the general topics in C9 forums. So, I have decided to make several guides and post them here.

This guide is about Elemental Enhancements. All the information i have gathered about elemental enhancement, I am putting them here.

The materials and the information of this guide will be property of C9/Webnez.

What is Elemental Enhancement?

There are four elements in the Continent of the Ninth Seal; Air, Water, Fire and Earth. Corresponding to each element, There is an elemental gem :

Sky Sapphire for Air

Wild Topaz for Earth

Flame Ruby for Fire

Ocean Emerald for Water

Enhancing equipments using these elemental stones adds elemental attributes of the corresponding element.

Elements can almost never fail being added to equipment. However, Elemental Values are set on a 100:1% scale, for example +70 will added 0.7% your element attributes, while +240 will add 2.4%.

Elemental Attribute
Elemental attribute of your chartacter can be checked in the botttom of your character menu.

Increase in any elemental attribute increases the elemental attack or defence by a percentage. In my case, I have 790 Earth attack which shows as 7.9% Earth attack in the character menu.

Effect of Elemental Enhancement

The elemental attributes can either increase your elemental attack or defence. There are two types of effect that can be expected from elemental enhance ment depending on the type of equipment (Weaponor Armor). Only Weapons and Armors that have Element Slot can be enhanced using elemental stones.

Weapons

Elemntal enhancement of weapons changes all attacks(Physical or Magical) from "Normal" to "Elemental" corresponding to the specific element that is added to the weapon. It is not recommended to add 2 or more different types of elements, as the weapon will always take the effect of the dominant elemen or may get canceled completely. It also increases damage in skills that use the specific element that is added

Elemental enhancement of weapons DO NOT effect in PvP except for some skills that use the specific element that is added to the weapon.

Armors

When armor is enhanced using an elemental gem, armor gains resistance to the specific element that was added. It is recommended to use a variety of elements (depending on scenario) since elemental resistance does not override each other like weapon element. Tje elemental enhance ment of armor are also available in PvP.

How To Enhance?

You can enhance a weapon or armor with element buy talking to the Jweler.

The Jweler is always Besides the Blacksmith in every town. After talking to the jweler select the "Element Enhancement" option.

It opens the Elemental Enhancement tool where you can put the Elemental Gem and the Equipment to be enhanced in their corresponding slots.

After placing the equipment and the gem in their corresponding slots, click on Enhance button and the elemental gem will be added to the blank elemental gem slot of your equipment.

Note:

1. It requires some gold to enhance equipment using elemental gems, which depends on the grade of equipment and gem.

2. If there is no blank slot available in the equipment. the gem will replace the existing gem in the first slot of the equipment. The existing gem will get destroyed in the process.

Grades of Elemental Gem

Elemental gems have grades from 1 to 10 (I to X) which determines the amont of increase in the elemental attribute (Atk or Def) on enhancement by using the gem. Grade 1 provides the least amount (30) and grade 10 provides the highest (600). When multiple gems of same element are added to an equipment the attributes add up to define the total attribute of a specific element.

Combining Elemental Gems

Elemental gems of lower grade can be combined to get elemental gems of higher grade. Grade 1 and 2 can be combined directly using the Nitro Cube from blacksmith.

For combining elemental gems(above level II) You need certain materials.

Ingot of Earth       to Combine Wild Topaz (Earth Gem)

Wood of Fire         to Combine Flame Ruby (Fire Gem)

Solution of Water to Combine Ocean Emerald (Water Gem)

Bolt of Air              to Combine Sky Sapphire (Air Gem)

How to create materials required for combining?

Metal worker can use Earth Powder/ Earth fragtment to make crude/inferior/common Ingot of Earth.

Wood worker can use Fire Powder/ Fire fragtment to make crude/inferior/common Wood of Fire.

Chief can use Water Powder/ Water fragtment to make crude/inferior/common Solution of Water.

Tailor can use Air Powder/ Air fragtment to make crude/inferior/common Bolt of Air.

Pretty nice guide but some of the info you have there is already on c9wiki. Maybe you should integrate it here because I guess it's a place where people go to find info instead of the forum.

Just a sugestion :)

Hi i have a question

well i have putted 2 gems water damage 180 and 180 so 2 of level VI , but i noticed that in the third world my attacks are pretty low and weak... the problem is not pve but in pvp... i did not test it yet but will my attacks be lower? i mean the water damage would affect all the skills or only that specific skill with water damage??? cause in pve the water attack include all my skills...

and what if i have water damage and the enemy in pvp has some water resistance will all my attacks be lower? or only that skill with water damage^?

In PvP elemental enhancements only effect the skill which uses the corresponding element. This means, if you have water elemental enhancement, then only skils which do water damage by default will get effected and nothing else.

Yes, if your opponent has water resistance the water damage of both the skill and the enhancement is reduced.

In PvE, for third continent, the mobs are water element. So having water enhancement wont do much damage. You will have to use earth enhqancement in the third continent for getting higher damage.

Tartarus (8/18/2012)

Elemental enhancement of weapons DO NOT effect in PvP except for some skills that use the specific element that is added to the weapon.

Since Wardens use mostly water skills I notice them applying Water Elements to their weapons. So, do they get their damage amplified in pvp? Also if I were to apply Water Element to my armors would I get less damage from Wardens in pvp? Because I really get so much damage from Wardens.

For making lvl 1 elemental gem you need corresponding elemental shard. Elemental shardds are available to buy from Npc, magic merchant i guess.
